My husband Simon and I visited the wonderful jewellery shop owned by the lovely Ichia Tiyi, who designs and makes absolutely beautiful and innovative silver jewellery,
I'd discovered her accidentally when looking at Speightstown on Trip Advisor - and what a find she was! My husband bought me some earrings as a birthday gift and I loved them so much that we returned the following week to buy a necklace.
Tiyi is amazing to talk to - what a talented, remarkable and charming lady!

Please make the trip to Tiki's shop: it's well worth it.
We've just booked to return to Barbados next March, so we'll see you then, Tiyi!

Pretty good beach, calm waters for children. You can catch a Speightstown bus and take a short walk to get there - 5 mins tops. Its actually a string of beaches separated by sand and rocks, you can walk straight up the coast until you find the perfect spot. A few restaurants are close by such as Baia and The Mill & Co. Its the perfect beach for viewing sunsets. There's trees available for settling down in the shade. Be careful when swimming though, there are quite a few rocks in the water.

Beautiful local and regional original art across two rooms, featuring exhibitions. Free entry. The art is bright and vibrant, all for sale, different media including ceramics and jewellery. Great place for a cool gentle wander, maybe even a purchase!

Attractive building with small but interesting exhibits on 3 floors. Helpful staff, opening times are worth checking in advance.
Not all interactive items working during my visit, but still very interesting telling of local and island history.
I especially enjoyed the sugar cane room.
Price 30 Barbados dollars for tourists, reduced price for locals I think.
My visit was 45minutes to an hour.

Haymans is absolutely stunning and has an amazing lineup of different local small businesses! It’s the perfect place to go with friends, family, or even to sit and do work.

There’s free WiFi, amazing food options and truly, something for everyone to do. It’s also wheelchair accessible so that’s a plus :)

Just down an alleyway, the mural is hidden. It should be signposted and the area near it cleared. It is extraordinarily 3D in the classic tradition of trompe l'oeil and is a precis of the history of the island. Worth seeing if you are in the area.

Traditional post-hurricane (1837) Anglican parish church. A key element of the historic legacy of Speightstown.

A not cheap ticket fee to get in. A bun flight to get drinks and food. Very small selection of both. Entertainment good but delayed. So only an ok experience sadly.

Evan was friendly, knowledgeable and a great guide. I’d highly recommend the tour, perfect timing, learnt a lot and also got a free goodie bag with water, snacks and earphones for audio guide.

If you want to experience the true spirit of Barbados and engage with local people with stories that should be heard, this is the place for you. Babbies Cool Spot is a local bar just off of Queen Street in Speightstown, where a warm and friendly welcome, awaits. The beer is cheap, the selection of rum excellent and a modest selection of good quality local food is usually available. Gregory Blair the owner is a wonderful host and there's always a game of pool on offer should you wish to challenge the locals, "Melvin is a pretty handy player". The venue is basic/rustic so no need to dress up. When visiting we usually buy an 8 bottle bucket of Deputy $20 Barbados Dollars (10$ USD) plonk them on the table and spend the next couple of hours putting the world to rights with heart of the locals. The conversations can become quite animated, but they are always good fun and the more rum and beer consumed the more entertaining the conversation becomes. Wayne is always the voice of reason, Mervin brings colour and passion and Gregory keeps the peace. At the end of the evening you finish with a warm embrace, more knowledgeable of the struggles and the opportunities faced and the enduring optimism that all those who frequent this wonderful establishment have. You arrive has strangers but leave building new and hopefully long lasting friendships. We will certainly be returning when we next visit and I urge you to do the same. If you do, ask for Gregory and tell him Tony suggested you visit! enjoy.

This is the third time we have been diving with Phil and his team and we had a fantastic time as always . Nothing is too much trouble for Phil and he made a special effort to include our favourite dives (cement plant !) . One of our party did their discover scuba for the first time and Phil was extremely patient, taking extra time to get over his initial anxiety for a fantastic dive . We saw lots of turtles and sea life over the week and did our fave wrecks . Thanks a lot !
