- Marvin G2 contributionsWe came off an 8-day river cruise and found Amsterdam tours/museums were fully booked. Decided we would book this excursion. It was the best excursion we had all trip. Our guide (Leidse) was very knowledgeable and fun. Rotterdam was much cleaner than Amsterdam, and the town of Delft (where we had lunch) was cleaner still. The factory tour was very interesting, and the visit to the Hague was as well. The only downside for the Hague was we were only able to visit the outside of the building, but our guide provided a good summary of the mission and activities of the Hague. The personalized VIP service and personalized tour was exactly what I was looking for. I liked that we could add things based on my interests (the stained glass windows in the church in Gouda are breathtaking). I loved that we had time to sit down and have a coffee or cocktail break as I love to people watch, especially in new places. Steven is knowledgeable (about everything!) and personable. I felt like I was walking around with a super-smart friend rather than a tour guide. Conversation on all sorts of topics was easy. As a single female traveling alone, I felt completely comfortable and safe driving around the countryside with Steven. Cannot recommend his services enough. Knows the sites well and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. - NannetteR_12Indianapolis, IN28 contributionsVery nice day trip to Rotterdam, Delft, and The Hague. Loved seeing the yellow houses in Rotterdam and Delft especially. Our guide, Pete, was very good! Only suggestion would be that it would be nice to rotate seats in the minivan, like they do on guided tour buses, so the same people are not always stuck in the back with limited visibility! - Tatyana E4 contributionsWonderful VIP service. If you’re looking for luxury experience, you came to the right place. Very comfortable ride in a Mercedes. Our driver, Elias, was very knowledgeable, polite and attentive. He went above and beyond making sure we had a great experience. Besides the garden tour that we paid for he took us to a beautiful place on the beach to have lunch and a tulip farm that still had a field of beautiful red flowers. I have mobility issues, so he was very helpful and patient with me. At the end of the tour he took us on a driving tour of the city, which I had not expected, but was grateful, since it would mean less walking for me. The owner of the company was also very quick to respond to my email inquiry with where I would meet our driver in the airport, and we found our driver right away. - 199322392Solo Aussie in Europe24 contributionsGetting to Keukenhof from Amsterdam is not straightforward, and the crowds are ubiquitous. So anything that can make a day trip to Keukenhof easier is worth it.
Luckily, Gavin, the driver for the day, made this a very easy, stress-free experience on the day. He arrived early at my hotel, and was polite and attentive for the entire trip. His English is perfect, so there were no communication issues. The car was extremely comfortable, his driving skills were excellent, and he provided both water and wi-fi during the ride. When we arrived at Keukenhof, he got me straight in to the gardens, and also came in with me to help me get my bearings and to point out some of the key locations within the gardens, before leaving me to wander on my own as I wished.
However, if you want to visit Keukenhof, I would recommend that, if possible, you not visit on the last day, as my schedule forced me to do. Steve is personable, friendly and full of knowledge about Netherlands history, culture and the sites visited. His knowledge of the art in Mauritshuis made the tour outstanding. The timely pickup and drop off at our hotel plus his readiness to accommodate our interests and desires was much appreciated. He is an excellent driver and his vehicle is comfortable.
