When Prinzessin Dorothea von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg was born on 9 October 1636, in Glücksburg (Ostsee), Schleswig-Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, her father, Philipp von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, was 52 and her mother, Sophie Hedwig von Sachsen-Lauenburg, was 35. She married Christian Ludwig von Braunschweig Lüneburg Sol Welf Herzog, Fürst zu Calenberg und Lüneburg on 9 October 1653, in Hanover, Prussia, Germany. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. She died on 6 August 1689, in Karlovy Vary, Czechia, at the age of 52, and was buried in Berlin, Germany.
