we need to bring back made for tv fairy tale film adaptations cause they make the weirdest fucking choices and i need such media consumption for the sake of my health
I loved this when I was tiny bc when the mother leaned out the window, surrounded by all those roses, five year old me instantly thought she was the single most beautiful person in the whole world & that is hilarious now for multiple reasons
okay but this movie is so beautiful and colorful and beautiful especially for a straight to tv movie and it has such true fairytale vibe....... also kristin kreuk is an excellent choice for the fairest of them all some closeups of her took my breath away wow
kristin kreuk was an extremely powerful formative crush. this was Not Good, but thank you for the trip down gay memory lane
The way they do the magic mirror is so weird.
They must have spent all of the costume budget on the Queen because the dwarfs look like they’re starring in a school play about crayons.
It wasn't until the fantasy/fairytale films of Hallmark Entertainment produced between the late 90s and early 2000s that cinema captured the hallucinatory bliss and nausea of a fever dream peaking
"What does that mean? 'Beautiful'. I hate that. Do a person's outsides have anything to do with them being kind or considerate, or careful towards others? No. Or gentle or generous? No. Or loving or giving or just or wise."
It brings some new interesting elements to the Snow White tale while keeping some of the story's dark aspects. The costumes are great, Miranda Richardson is amazing as the Queen and every scene Vera Farmiga is in is a delight. But the movie is really rushed, not leaving enough time and room for the character's relationships to develop or for the story to breath and make sense.
