Simply the best!

Listened to this on the bounce, the brown line was as always stacked to the brim, human sardine can. Was groovin, especially when the guys house arrest anklet was beeping to the beat of “People Without”. Now that’s some 360 Audio.

Setlist is goofy but the band is firing on all cylinders, the biggest bullet in the chamber was fired during “Housequake” where Prince opened the “shut up already, damn” with a your mama joke.

Great live album— sad that the drums sound thin and they unfortunately ditch the thumpin synth by the second half. If the playing wasn’t so emasculate I could see why this isn’t necessarily essential, but this is Prince. Everything was amped to that next level, even the gorgeous cover of “Just My Imagination” and heart thumping “Cold Sweat”.

Wow. This really shows Prince at the height of his powers. One of the best live performers of his or any generation. Listening to this makes me regret never having seen him in concert. For those wanting to hear what all the fuss was about with Prince's guitar playing, look no further. The final few tracks of I'll Take You There, It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night, and Rave to the Joy Fantastic are all fantastic. The last few minutes of Rave to the Joy Fantastic especially are just unbelievably good.

This is supposedly the Definitive Prince Bootleg. I guess that opinion depends on how you view Prince. Sound-wise, it is a pristine soundboard, and I can't say it's a _bad_ performance- it's spirited, with good playing and some not-so-often-heard numbers. However, I have to say it's a little too straightforward for my tastes. Maybe if your objection to Prince is that he's always doing all this crazy weird stuff you'll relish the chance to just hear him bust out with music that is at turns funky, soulful, and rocking, but never freaky. Personally while I don't object to this kind of stuff what interests me about Prince is his crazy weird stuff; there are, at a minimum, hundreds of bands out there that can play this kind of music this well, but nobody else in the world who can do something like "Dance On". As a result I'm afraid I can't rate this as highly as most of the people here do.

The "Instrumental Jam" it worths for a entire musical career. What a brilliant piece of music!

A fantastic concert and a perfect soundboard recording. 'D.M.S.R.' features the guitar motif from 'America', and is performed over a completely different drum beat with synthesizer snatches, which make it sound completely different. The seemingly improvised 'People Without' (which was performed again at later aftershows in 1988) contains a small portion of Madhouse's 'Six', and 'Cold Sweat' features Sheila E's 'Transmississippirap'. My personal highlight from the show comes in the form of both 'Still Would Stand All Time' which is a far more personal and sexual song than the 'Graffiti Bridge' version would become, and an up tempo jam on 'Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic' which ends with the horn part from 'It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night'.

Best bootleg I ever heard. This shit is bananas. 5/5

Unfrickin' believable. I play this to remind myself that the hundreds of dollars that I've spent on crap bootlegs at least got me this. My copy has the best sound of any vinyl that I own. Prince at his apotheosis.
