Music artists Valerie Broussard and Skylar Astin (“So Help Me Todd”) will release their soaring new duet “Gravity” on Friday, January 27, as part of “New Music Friday.”
On the idea for their new duet, Broussard said, “The song came about when Stefan Lit, Skylar and I got together to write for the first time last spring. While it wasn’t our intention at first, over the course of the day the song naturally just evolved into a duet and ‘Gravity’ was born.”
“For me, this song is about the one who got away, someone who holds a piece of you still even after the relationship is done. I hope that people are able to connect with that especially with Valentine’s Day coming up,” Broussard expressed.
Skylar Astin allows his rich, resonant voice to shine on this song, which is smooth as silk, coupled by Valerie Broussard’s controlled and crystalline vocals, and the result is one true musical event.
They harmonize well together, and they are able to evoke a wide spectrum of raw emotions. This piano-laden ballad has a stirring vibe to it, which is just haunting. Well done all around.
This tune allows Skylar Astin to showcase his range and falsetto, while Valerie Broussard proves that she is one of the most underrated female recording artists of our time where her atmospheric vocals are simply too good to be mortal.
Hopefully, this is a harbinger of more great duets from both artists in the future.
“Gravity” is available for pre-order on digital service providers by clicking here. It ought to be enjoyed for its beauty and authenticity, and it garners an A rating.
