Sir Thomas Parr was born c 1483, and became sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1509. He was master of the wards and comptroller to Henry VIII. He inherited, in 1512, half the estates of his cousin, Lord FitzHugh, and his wife, Maud Green, was daughter and co-heiress of Sir Thomas Green of Boughton and Greens Norton in Northamptonshire.

He died on 11 November 1517, and was buried in St. Ann, Blackfriars, London. His wife died on 1 December 1531, and was buried beside him.

Their children were Catherine Parr, queen of Henry VIII, William Parr (afterwards Marquess of Northampton), and Anne, wife of William Herbert, Earl of Pembroke.
