"Silver Ghost" will follow the story of Lord John Douglas-Scott Montagu of Beaulieu. Montagu was instrumental in passing legislature in the United Kingdom that fostered the growth of the automobile.

As with many politicians, Montagu not only had friends in high places, but had an air of controversy surrounding him. Among Montagu's close friends were Rolls-Royce founders Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, and artist Charles Sykes. Also in "Silver Ghost" are Montagu's wife Cis and his mistress Eleanor Velasco Thornton, who would later be sculpted by Sykes, and become the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament that adorned Rolls-Royce cars from then on.

"When I read the story of 'Silver Ghost,' I was mesmerized," said Scorsese, who is responsible for films like "Gangs of New York" and "Goodfellas." "I immediately thought: this is a picture thathasto be made."

Attenborough commented that "'Silver Ghost' is a most complex love story, not only between men and women, but men and machines. Set at the turn of the last century, it delineates the fascinating story of Charles Rolls and Henry Royce and the highly charged love affairs within the Montagu family."

"Silver Ghost" is tentatively scheduled to be released in 2013, according to IMDB.
