Best Actors in History: the ones who went to Acting School versus the ones who didn’t. Which list do you prefer?

Keep in mind that the ones who didn’t go to Acting School still took classes or had private coaching, it’s rare to find an actor who hasn’t received any kind of training. And everyone’s needs and wants are different when it comes to acting education, so if you feel pressured to major in acting in college or spend many years in a program just know that you don’t have to do that. Lastly, there is probably more actors who deserve to be in either list but I don’t want to make them very long.

Brendan Fraser, Cornish College of the Arts

You would put brendan fraser on that list? Damn

He just won the Best Actor Oscar. He has formal training. I don’t make the rules.

Yeah but this is a list of the best actors in history. You gotta build some reputation for that and his just started in a way. If I took ur advice that means I would also have to include folks like Casey Affleck, Will Smith, Rami Malek… Basically whoever won an oscar and thats way too many people

How did he just start? He just won an Oscar, but he’s been acting since the 80s…

I personally interpreted what the title to mean people who won Best Actor, given that this is an Oscar race subreddit

Both lists are just too big, too arbitrary, and each filled with enough cretins and creep for me to pick either as a whole.

I'll just pick Meryl Streep and only Meryl Streep instead.

If we are picking the most overrated performer of all time then sure.

Someone has never seen Sophie’s Choice or Adaptation, and if you have you clearly are too dense to know a good performance when you see one.

Lol I have seen them. She’s still overrated as fuck.

Yeah then you’re too dense to tell a good performance when you see one, sorry haha
