‘Kannur Squad’ actor Shebin Benson: The film’s captivating story structure excited me! - Exclusive

In an exclusive interview with ETimes, the talented actor Shebin Benson offered insights into his role in the much-awaited Mammootty starrer, "Kannur Squad." The actor, who portrays the character 'Ramzan' in the film, provided intriguing details about his experience working on this thrilling project.

Speaking about his character, Shebin remarked, "In Kannur Squad, my character's name is Ramzan and it was quite exciting and challenging to play the character"
The origins of 'Ramzan' in the film's narrative were also touched upon, as Shebin revealed, "As the writers Muhammed Shafi and Rony Chettan (Rony David Raj) said during the interviews, his character Ramzan was formed when they were taking references for a story based on the real 'Kannur Squad'." This connection to real-life events adds an intriguing layer to his character in the movie.
Shebin went on to reminisce about a momentous occasion in his career, sharing, "For me, I feel so grateful to act with Mammootty on January 1st this year, first scene and first shot. Such things are really overwhelming for me and it is stuck in my memory, first day during New Year, sharing space with a legendary actor Mammootty." His excitement and admiration for Mammootty was all visible in his words.
Discussing the script of "Kannur Squad," Shebin couldn't contain his enthusiasm, stating, "The film’s captivating story structure excited me. I had that excitement while shooting for the movie."
He also showered praise on Roby Varghese Raj, the filmmaker and cinematographer, expressing his delight at sharing screen space with Mammootty under Raj's direction. Shebin said, “We all know his prowess as a cinematographer who doesn’t compromise on the technical aspects of a movie.”
Concluding the interview, Shebin eagerly mentioned, "It's my third film with Mammootty, and I'm eagerly waiting for its release on September 28th."
