Silence 2 Movie Review:Though slow in the beginning, Manoj Bajpayee’s Silence 2 film catches pace in the middle and in the end.

Not that the entire movie is a drab. Manoj Bajpayee starrer Zee5’s Silence 2 though starts with not much zing, towards the middle and in the end Silence 2 does pick up. But it is the flawless performance of Bajpayee which keeps the film alive and engaging.

Aban Bharucha Deohans’ thriller Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout as it progresses we see the twists and turns which makes the film worth the watch. I repeat that the film is not a complete bore, but lacks the desired layers. The movie starts with Commissioner of Police tasks ACP Avinash Verma (Manoj Bajpayee) getting a call for a mass shooting at the Night Owl Bar in Mumbai.

I won’t say that the movie is predictable, though in the beginning it appears to be so. The center of the shootout is a young girl who is in the escort service business. An earlier shot shows that she notices something in her client’s computer and when she takes a photo of that, the person comes in and punches her in the face. Now who is that person is the big question of the whole film.

This particular client is the real criminal and the person behind the girl trafficking racket. But who is this person and where does he live and what is his source of income? One clue of the murder leads to another, including the suspect. The movie gets interesting during this part of the investigation.

Still from Silence 2 Movie

ACP Verma is a no nonsense person. In Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, Manoj Bajpayee carries on from where he left off in the Season 1. Now he is separated from his wife and in the film it is shown that he gets frequent calls from his daughter, who is matured and understanding and understands the pressure of his father’s job. Though the daughter is not shown in the film, she is indeed a pivotal part in ACP Verma’s life.

But as compared to Silence 1, the character of ACP Verma has evolved quite a bit. He is calm and doesn’t take unnecessary stress. Though he is on his toes 24/7, he expects his team to take a break because he believes that a tired brain only adds to the confusion of solving a crime. There is much more to the case than just solving the crime and finding the criminal. And those layers start peeling off as the movie progresses.

The prime suspect of the film William Shakespearean play lover, theatre actor, Arjun Chauhan  (Dinker Sharma). Not just ACP Verma (Bajpayee), but Sanjana Bhatia (Prachi Desai), Amit Chouhan (Sahil Vaid) and Raj Gupta (Vaquar Shaikh) all of them keep us engaged as the mystery unfolds. Ultimately from Silence 2 we realise that everybody has a moral compass and to cross and reach the grey area is your choice. Good, bad or ugly, eventually you pay for your choices.
