What is Scott Eastwood's relationship with Clint Eastwood like?

While Scott Eastwood grew up mostly with his mom, Jacelyn Reeves, he and father Clint Eastwood grew closer when Scott was in high school in California.

He told GQ Australia that his earliest memories of Clint included visiting the Space Cowboys set and riding in a helicopter piloted by his father. "As a younger kid, there was kind of an aura of greatness. Like, he's my hero. Now, I think every opportunity is an opportunity to hear another good story," Scott said. "The guy's like a vault of stories. I try to pry as many stories as I can out of him. All of a sudden, you’ll get to a topic and you’ll be like, 'Whoa, you and Frank Sinatra did what together?' It'll be stuff like that and you're like, 'Wait, stop, I need to hear this. You're not going to be around forever, so…'"

While he admired his father, Scott admits Clint was a tough dad who made him work for every opportunity and disciplined him sometimes in a way that parents today may find harsh—like when Clint punched Scott in the face for leaving sister Kathryn at a party. "He popped me and said, 'You don't ever leave your sister at a party. EVER.' And it was very old-school, very old-school of him. He wasn't afraid."

Did Clint Eastwood help Scott Eastwood get into Hollywood?

Scott Eastwood acknowledges that his father had a huge role in him becoming a star, but he also says that he had to work hard for every opportunity he received. He worked as a bartender before getting steady acting work and would often practice his lines for auditions behind the bar—and though he told GQ Australia that Clint helped Scott get a role in Gran Torino, he was paid the Screen Actors Guild minimum for the bit part. In addition, Scott used his birth name, Scott Reeves, early in his career to avoid any obvious nepotism.

Scott also says Clint didn't throw money at him when he was a fledgling star and student, recalling one incident when Clint refused to give him money for a truck. "I called [Dad] and was like, 'I've got this job, can I get eight grand to buy a truck? I'm working this job, I can pay you back X amount a month, you know.' And I remember the phone going silent ... And he'd just be like, 'Yeah, no.'" He credits Clint with giving him his "hustler mentality."

Scott also says that while Clint hasn't exactly handed him his career on a platter, he's learned a great deal just from watching his father's career trajectory, and would like to follow in Clint's footsteps eventually. "What I've discovered from working with my father is that I'm still learning. I'm just a kid in this business. But film is much more of a director's medium," Scott told Esquire. "And I've seen from my father transitioning into being a director, that's where the power lies. And, like he says, it's feast or famine for an actor. If you're not creating your own material, then you're just fighting for whatever's out there. I definitely have the desire to go to the other side."

Who are Scott Eastwood's siblings?

Scott Eastwood's only full-blooded sibling is his sister Kathryn. However, he has plenty of half-siblings thanks to father Clint Eastwood's many relationships: Half-brother Kyle Eastwood and half-sisters Francesca Eastwood, Alison Eastwood, Morgan Eastwood, Kimber Lynn Eastwood and Laurie Murray.

Will Scott Eastwood play Wolverine?

No one knows quite yet if Scott Eastwood will succeed Hugh Jackman as X-Men's Wolverine, but one thing is for sure: He really wants to do it. He told ScreenRant in 2018 that he would "100 percent" accept the role if the opportunity presented itself, and many Marvel and X-Men fans have already given him the part in fantasy casting.

"I love Wolverine. He's one of my favorite comic book characters of all time," Eastwood said. "He's a renegade. Total badass renegade. He's kind of, you know, a loose cannon … doesn't play by the rules … he's the kind of character that I love."

It would be especially poignant if Eastwood played Wolverine in part because Jackman previously said that his portrayal of the cantankerous, clawed, rapidly-healing mutant was partially inspired by Clint Eastwood.
