    Worth a Visit
It is quite a lovely spot to explore, learn, and spend some time outside. We stopped here on the way from München to Italy and this provided a welcomed break. Beautiful surroundings and pleasant people working the grounds. Nice little gift shop and opportunities to dive deep and learn more about the history.

Need to find two hours on a nice day to visit
The exterior and grounds of the palace are beauiful and simple a great place to stroll. The interior in which they are refurbishing could use some more informative displays. We had the audio guide and I found myself clicking through the rooms and numbers faster than perhaps needed to. Very easy to get to and plan to spend around 2 hours here. Great location for pictures.

    Germany’s most beautiful palace
A fairytale palace. Beautifully kept with access to the rooms and gardens. A must-see destination. Tickets available online so it’s very easy to make sure you don’t have to queue. Parking right next to the gardens.

    Interesting
Gardens are nice and the carriage museum is worth a look. The palace was closed when we visited. It’s an enormous place and worth a look. My advice eat and drink before or after you visit as both are average and heavily over priced

Beautiful oasis in the middle of the city
Tip 1: Buy tickets in advance unless you like standing in line. Audio guides are 3.50 each and you will need to stand in line for that. However, follow the next tip and hopefully, the lines will be short. Tip 2: Arrive promptly at 10 am (when they open) so you can leave before the doors of tour buses open and the crowds come forth and swallow you up. Tip 3: Pack a picnic because the gardens are beautiful and you can eat outside on benches. Don't sit on the grass as it is full of ticks! Tip 4: Go by Tram (16 or 17) because the view of the city is beautiful. Other than that, nothing more to add other than it is a beautiful palace and well organized. We had a wonderful day.

    A royally good day
To get a glimpse of the life of Bavarian aristocracy, this is the place to go. Unless you are familiar with the royal genealogy, I recommend to pay the additional for the audio tour. The tour is adequate and sets you on the right path. The grounds are quite lovely to promenade. I would agree with other reviews that the staff are not welcoming, however the crowds probably would test the patience of Mother Theresa. I see another reviewer recommending arriving by 10 - probably good advice. Also, I had a small bag but had to check it…it was small. They do have lockers. If you like the area then a good nearby (25 minutes maybe ) walking destination traversing some nice roads through homes and shops is Königlicher Hirschgarten which is a beer garden along with some deer. The beer garden is not fancy or unique, but it is a great place to people watch - you can bring your own food at tables in the back or stay in the areas where there is full service. You are bound to have a nice day outside the confines of the city.

    Impressive place
Exploring Nymphenburg Palace in Munich was a journey into Bavarian royalty and Baroque splendor. The palace’s grandeur, with its opulent interiors and expansive gardens, was a visual delight. The guided tours offered valuable insights into the history of the Wittelsbach dynasty and the significance of each room. Strolling through the palace grounds and admiring the cascading fountains and manicured lawns was a tranquil escape. The ornate details of the palace’s architecture and the craftsmanship of the period were awe-inspiring. The palace also houses museums, including the Marstallmuseum, showcasing royal carriages and sleighs. Nymphenburg Palace is a must-visit for history enthusiasts, art lovers, and anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the regal heritage of Bavaria.

Palace with a beautiful exterior and a nice park that had interesting small houses and lakes
The palace architecture is very nice, there are some lakes in front and in the back. The interior does not have many rooms to visit and I think it costs too much for what you have to see but if you are a history fan or you like rococo style is worth it. I liked more the small buldings from the park of the palace. The park of the palace is free of charge but the small buldings from the park are not free. The buildings are situated on each side of the small river/lake that passes through the middle of the park and are two on each side. You have a lot to walk, it takes about 2-3 hours to reach all of them. I recomend wearing sport shoes because the pathways in the park are covered with gravel. One of the buildings from the park is a hunting lodge, a bathhouse, a relaxation house with oriental inspired decorations and a chapel that has on the inside the look of a grotto. As a possible downside is that the toilets were situated only in the main palace building and were closed from time to time for 15 mins for cleaning.

    Well Worth It
I would highly recommend a visit to the palace, though only a few rooms in the main body are open, they are quite breathtaking. I notice some people saying the entrance fee is too expensive but I would disagree, much cheaper than it would be in the UK and the rooms have been restored to such a high standard. It must have cost a fortune. The stables with all the coronation coaches and sleighs in must be seen as is the hall of mirrors. It’s a beautiful place and the overall size is massively impressive.

So beautiful, so elegant and and just looks like a wow!!!
A very historic place to be once in a lifetime . Lots more to explore and learn about it to share with friends and family. As we are in winter we definitely enjoyed the walk around the garden which is well maintained and cleaned. Walking on nature itself has a beauty and the energy we gained after that is so amazing. I missed the view of the statues around the palace and garden areas because it is covered with wooden boxes to prevent snow . There is always you trying to find the reason to come back. So it is for me for sure 😊

We visited Nymphenburg Palace after landing and stowing our luggage. We arrived midday and did not have any issues with queues or crowding. As we visited in December, it was a bit chilly outside however the grounds were still beautiful. The inside of the palace is beautiful. We finished in approximately 90 minutes. After we finished touring the inside, we had time to explore the grounds. It was beautiful and we enjoyed looking at the water features and waterfowl.

The palace is a little walk from public transportation, though nothing significant. If you take public transportation in, you walk to the palace from the far entrance and explore the majority of the water features and grounds on the front before entering the building.

The museum next door, Museum Mensch und Natur, is also worth checking out while you are in the area. As they share the same grounds, I recommend planning to visit both on the same day.

We went there at winter time, even though the garden was a bit dull, but still.. it looks gorgeous and the palace ..it looks incredibly stunning from the outside.

There were swans, ducks and birds everywhere, if you bring your kids here, I’m sure they will love it , same as my kids.

The entrance fee only €6/person and I think it’s fair enough.

If you come from city centre such as Munich Central Station or Marienplatz, take a tram no 17, it will stop near the palace.

Lastly, if you only have a short time at Munich and have an option only one palace you can visit, choose this one .. it’s worth it.

Such a good looking palace!!! Architecture and interior are definitely there to enjoy for any fan of history and Baroque.

There are also lovely outdoor areas which would be just amazing in summer! We visited in winter on a cloudy day, so no fountains but the lake at the front with the swans still looked great.

The palace also houses an amazing collection of couches and sleighs owned by the Bavarian royal family. If you are at Nymphenburg, definitely check it out!

Another reason to visit is the world famous Gallery of Beauties containing portraits of 36 most beautiful women of Europe collected by Ludwig I. The collection contains the portrait of Lola Montez who was the king’s mistress.

I debated about taking the tram out to the palace but I am glad I did. The exterior of the building is very impressive and great photo opportunities even in winter. The extent of the interior that is open is relatively limited so we did not find it took very long to go through.

Lovely place to visit on a nice day. Lots of lovely walks around the grounds and a couple of nice places to eat.
We were disappointed with the gondola - nowhere in the literature does it tell you to make a booking. in fact you can only book if you reserve the full gondola - €65. We queued waiting for the gondola and as soon as it arrived a family jumped in front of us as they had a reservation! Waited another half hour only for the same thing to happen again!!! There was only 1 gondola operating so a long waiting time on the off-chance of getting a ride.
If you are less than 5 people, and don't have a reservation it's unlikely you'll get to ride the gondola. Very disappointing.

As you come up to the castle, see the flock of grey and white swans enjoying a swim in a small canal.
The first hall you enter is absolutely breathtaking with it's white and gold stucco and paintingsshining in the bright light from the windows.
The main building is divided into North and South quarters, each with each beautifully furnished room more magnificent than the next.
When you think you've seen everything, there is still more to see.
Not to be missed, the coach museum in a separate building to be got to after a bit of a walk in the woods. It is probably one of a kind, featuring Ludwig's gold coaches among others having belonged to various nobility. We can see the difference between a phaeton, a broughm and a gala coach. And the light sleighs with their mastheads are a delight.
Upstairs is a porcelain museum.
In still another building, further into the wooded grove is the Amelien house, the queen's summer residence with its more delicate furnishings.
The outdoor, self-service cafe is a restful place to relax after an intensive visit.

I was mesmerized by the size of the building and decorations that was before I went for a walk in the ''backyard''. It is hard to imagine the size of it for the purpose it served. The visit inside the main Schloss is not that long but quite interesting. It is well worth to by a combination ticket to see all the other buildings of the site. Be prepared to walk, you can easily pass the whole day visiting this site.

Take the S1 to Laim, then a bus to the palace - a 45 minute journey. We got a group day ticket and went to Dachau from here, so it was economical way to go. Regarding this palace, the outside grounds are huge, it takes 15 minutes to get here from the road where the bus drops you off. Although drizzly, we walked the grounds before entering. Once we opted for just the Palace ticket, we were ushered upstairs to wander through rooms which I thought were less impressive than the Residenz downtown. We were inside less than an hour, and did not think it was worth it. Best to combine with Dachau since they are in the same direction.

Very complete complex of extensive buildings. In the very large park you can walk around the lakes and follies, many of which are open and have spectacular interiors. The Palace building itself is spectacular inside with beautiful furniture and frescoes. A must visit when in the city. There is also a carriage museum, and porcelain museum which are definitely worth a visit. You could spend two days doing all of this site. In one of the buildings surrounding the palace is a Nymphenburg porcelain shop, if you fancy buying a piece of the real thing.
