The Marvel Cinematic Universe is all set to serve its ardent fans with darker content as the Thunderbolts is soon going to unleash a whole new world. The film is set to feature some of the most iconic Marvel villains such as Taskmaster, Ghost, Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes, and many more. Naturally, the project has already caught the attention of the fans.
While Marvel Studios remains tight-lipped about the film’s details, the same can not be said about its actress, Florence Pugh, who sneakily leaked her character’s costume. The costume looked immensely detailed, gaining more attention from the fans on social media. However, she received a stern warning from her director in her video for sharing the first look of the costume before the official announcement.
Florence Pugh Receives a Warning From Thunderbolts’ Director For Leaking Her Costume
Making her Marvel debut as Yelena Belova in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 2021 film, Black Widow featuring Scarlett Johansson. The fans loved Florence Pugh’s portrayal of the character and the way she carried it throughout the film. Yet, much of her is not seen as Pugh was only showcased in Hawkeye. Fans were excited when the much-anticipated project film began production after facing repeated delays and setbacks.
However, the Oppenheimer actress is not letting the excitement cool down as she shares a sneak peek from the set of Thunderbolts on her Instagram, sharing her costume and what Jake Schreier, the film’s director is doing. When Pugh focused the camera on the director, asking “What are we allowed to say we’re doing?” To which Jake Schreier warned her saying, “I don’t think you’re even allowed to be doing this” Pugh acknowledged, and how “someone is going to rugby tackle me,” for leaking her costume which looks like a new sage green suit.
The clip was shared by DiscussingFilm (@DiscussingFilm) on X, to which fans shared a positive response as they have been waiting for a long time to see the film and they can’t wait any longer.
She seems excited so they must be cooking. Honestly I hope it’s good since the premise and roster of the team seem interesting.

Pugh is easily the main reason to be excited for this one! Still iffy on how the rest of it will turn out 🤔

I already feel that the film will give her much more prominence, she deserves it, she is very talented

I always wonder how uncomfortable those costumes are. That one doesn't look too bad, but I imagine after 8 hours it's not fun.

We must protect her at all costs

Needless to say, Florence Pugh is immensely excited to continue with the production of the film, as she was in denial herself as the project finally began to shoot.
Florence Pugh Could Not Believe Her Sense That Thunderbolts Is Finally Happening
MCU’s Thunderbolts tells the story of former villains and anti-heroes assembled by the government to embark on dangerous missions when The Avengers is not available. The team of anti-heroes has a complicated and extensive history in comic books, but the project has been delayed multiple times in the past. Firstly, the disastrous COVID-19 caused the delay, and later SAG-AFTRA strikes further pushed the film back to 2025.
Florence Pugh, who will portray the role of Yelena Belova in the film, was immensely excited for the project as she could hardly believe that the film had begun production. During an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress shared how at one point in time, she believed that the film would get canceled because of the setbacks.
She said,
“It kind of feels like it might not happen because of the amount of times it has been paused, which is just a natural feeling.”
She added,
“When we shot Black Widow, we thought we were going to shoot the next movie relatively sooner than we did, and it’s just been this thing that’s been looming, that we’ve been waiting to shoot at some point in the future, and now it’s finally happening.”
Nevertheless, the film has begun production with all its might, and a sneak peek shared by the actors from the set of the film, adds to the anticipation of the fans for the film which is going to set a new era in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel’s Thunderbolts is set to release in theatres on 2 May, 2025.
