Is ‘SNL’ New Tonight (April 20, 2024)? Host, Musical Guest Details
Is SNL new tonight (April 20, 2024)? No. Saturday Night Live will air a rerun featuring Shane Gillis and musical guest 21 Savage.
Last week's host was an easy-to-break Ryan Gosling with musical guest Chris Stapleton, and the week before that saw Kristen Wiig, who was a cast member on the show from 2005 to 2012, back at Studio 8H. The episode, with musical guest Raye, was her fifth time at bat.
SNL premiered its 49th season on Oct. 14, more than five months after the late-night comedy show was forced to wrap its previous season early due to the now resolved WGA strike. (Like other late-night programs, SNL returned when the SAG strike was still ongoing and with the union's full blessing; but that strike eventually ended, too.) Pete Davidson hosted the premiere with musical guest Ice Spice, and Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift dropped in for cameos.

The cast members for Season 49 are: Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Punkie Johnson, Ego Nwodim, Kenan Thompson, Bowen Yang, Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow, Sarah Sherman, Devon Walker and Please Don’t Destroy, which consists of Ben Marshall, John Higgings and Martin Herlihy.
Michael Che and Colin Jost have returned to anchor Weekend Update, as they have since September 2014. And new face Chloe Troast has been added to the cast.
SNL airs on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
