Sarah Ferguson says she ‘made a commitment’ to Prince Andrew despite divorce

Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, said this week that she still abides by her marital vows to the scandal-scarred royal — even 25 years after their divorce.

“I made a commitment that I will always live up to,” Ferguson, 61, told Polsat News during a recent charity trip to Poland, calling her 1986 wedding to Andrew “one of the best days of my life.”

“When you make that commitment, you decide to marry a prince — and I fell in love with him,” the Duchess of York said of her ex, who she still lives with in Royal Lodge in Windsor.

“I kept my commitment, no matter what,” Ferguson, who is often nicknamed Fergie, added of the UK royal long dogged by accusations that he had sex with a teenage girl supplied by late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

“People said: you got divorced. I’m divorced, not divorced … they don’t know how I feel,” she told the Polish outlet of her ongoing feelings for Andrew.

“Divorce is one thing, but my heart is my oath, my obligation,” she said.

Ferguson — who was divorced from Andrew in May 1996 amid rumors of affairs — has repeatedly been a lone voice speaking up in defense of him amid the sex scandal that saw him booted from royal duties.

She was also by his side this week as he reportedly made a 500-mile dash to his mother’s Scottish retreat, Balmoral, after avoiding multiple attempts to be served court papers just days before the first hearing is scheduled for Monday.

Andrew has yet to address the lawsuit by accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, but he and Buckingham Palace have vehemently denied her often-repeated claims that she was made to have sex with him three times, starting when she was 17.
