Today I’m featuring the first line of A Cry in the Dark by Jessica R. Patch. I love Jessica’s books – they’re deliciously creepy (just the right amount) and so suspenseful! Plus her writing voice is delightful 🙂

and the first line is…

    This one is on my TBR list. I keep hearing great things about it. These are the first lines from The Women of Easter by Liz Curtis Higgs.
    She sat in the pew across from us, dressed entirely in yellow. No more than four years old, she was utterly adorable, from the circlet of yellow flowers in her hair to her lacy dress, pale tights, and Mary Jane shoes.

    This comes from A Novel Proposal by Denise Hunter: Sadie Goodwin’s literary dreams came to a shuddering halt in the middle of her favorite SoHo coffee shop. She blocked out the honking traffic and the May sun streaming through the plate-glass window. Blocked out the lively chatter and cheerful tinkling of a spoon inside a coffee mug and leaned toward her agent. “What did you say?”
