Gregory Eugene Palmer, 65, was born in Akron, Ohio on September 13, 1956, to Mary Ann and William G. Palmer. His earthly journey came to an end on June 21, 2022 at Hickory Ridge Nursing Home. He graduated from East High School in Akron, Ohio. Gregory relocated to Oakland, California in 1978. He moved back to Ohio in 1984. Gregory AKA “Buzz” and “Cowboy” called everyone who crossed his path “Good Buddy”. He was a kindhearted soul, easy going and friendly. He loved to play chess, dominoes and many other games, he taught his siblings how to play chess. Gregory taught everyone in the family how to play every board game you can think of, including his nephews. He loved games, listing to the radio and smoking his pipe was his favorite pastime.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ann Palmer, grandmother, Mary Tinsley, brother Roland Palmer, sisters Dorothy Askew and Rosetta Wilson, nephew Justin Palmer, aunts Ann Ligon, Ruth Johnson and Deloris Springfield. He is survived by his sisters Kimberly of San Ramon, CA and Deloris Gray (Aaron) of Hayward, CA, Katrina Dingle (Yancy) of Florida, brothers James JC Palmer (Lisa) of North Canton, OH, Andrew Palmer (Tina) of Akron, OH, Emerson Harper of Cleveland, OH, aunt Helen Combs (Samuel) of Madisonville, KY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Funeral Services will be held at Friday July 1, 2022 Rhoden Memorial Home 1101 Palmetto Ave. Akron, Oh 44306 at 12PM where family will receive friends from 11:00AM until time of service. Interment, Glendale Cemetery.
