As we go through this beautiful month of May, our thoughts naturally turn to Mary of Nazareth, Mother of God, and Don Bosco's constant 'help'. In preparation for the Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians, celebrated on 24 May 2024, the Salesian Family is united in the prayer of the World Novena, from 15 to 23 May 2024. There will be a series of accompanying videos which we will share as they become available.

Savio House celebrates Savio's feast

On Sunday 5th May, the community at Savio House invited parishioners up to Savio House to celebrate the feast of St Dominic Savio.
The sun was shining on those that were able to make it so the parishioners enjoyed their lunch in the sunshine, and the young people could enjoy the games outside too.

Inter-Salesian Athletics

On Friday 3rd May, the Salesian schools from across the UK came together in Trafford for the annual Inter-Salesian athletics competition.
Each school brought a selection of students of boys and girls from Years 7, 8, 9, and 10 to compete in various events throughout the day.

I love this modern painting of two great Salesian saints: Laura Vicuña and Dominic Savio—both were teenagers who can still teach adults so much, especially in these difficult times. 25 years at Saint John Bosco House

On the Feast of St Joseph the Worker, Fr Gerry Briody, our Provincial, visited Farnborough to preside at an evening Mass celebrating the 25th anniversary of the opening of Saint John Bosco House. After the Homily, Br Michael Delmer read the names of the thirty confreres who had spent their final years as residents. Shrigley Old Boys meeting - April 2024

On the weekend of the 19th-21st April 2024, past pupils from Shrigley Hall met for a retreat led by Fr Michael Winstanley SDB.
The retreat was based around the appearances of Jesus in the Gospels following his rising after his crucifixion.
The group stayed at Savio House and enjoyed the food and camaraderie concluding the weekend with a Mass celebrated by Fr Michael and Fr Joe Tran SDB.
