Audience Member feel good show, fresh concept and good cast. however not all jokes are a bang Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This show is great. I love the comedy and the constant breaking of the fourth wall ties it together. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television is Hilarious. Great beat, easy to dance to; I give it 4 and a half stars. Runs a constant cultural commentary on our me/ social media generation clash with a "solid" midwest values world. Midwest Gen Xer antagonizing antagonist foil comes full blast through Samira Wiley's character from Cleveland, Ohio of course. In season to Wood Harris brings his own flavor or Midwest reality. Wonderful use of affluent first world privilege, stereotypes represented by Ryan's Millennial Hollywood "I'm gonna be a star" character and environment. His rose colored glasses are always on high beam. It begs the question, is he that naive and oblivious or is it his way of coping. I had to go with oblivious but it wasn't an easy decision. I often laugh to tears. Diverse casting. One draw back; often the line between reality and the film lot gets more than blurred, not a good plot choice much of the time. The rotating black police chief is a funny and interesting commentary on our culture's acceptance of prejudice in Hollywood. I was disappointed the show didn't trust their viewers to figure it out and spilled the beans early on, this is smart fun show. Ryan has as good a sense of comedic timing as I've seen. Formulaic? Yeah but it still rocks. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Great mix of quick laughs and satirical look at crime shows and streaming media. Lose yourself in the confusion of what is possibly the brain child of a 7 year old Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny in a different way. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely a great show , very funny and the way the cast works of each other is amazing Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Sonia Saraiya Variety For all of its self-deprecation (and platform deprecation), "Ryan Hansen Solves Crime on Television" is a sturdy little half-hour, with a procedural template that promises a neatly tied off case at the end of each episode. Jan 30, 2019 Full Review Dan Fienberg Hollywood Reporter I don't think Wiley is giving a great performance as Hansen's sidekick, but it's so much fun to see the Orange Is the New Black and Handmaid's Tale veteran in this context that it hardly matters. Jan 30, 2019 Full Review Mike Hale New York Times "Solves Crimes" has potential, but its problem is hard-wired into its premise and its venue: You wish that someone more interesting to watch than Mr. Hansen were at the center of it. Jan 30, 2019 Full Review Rob Lowman Los Angeles Daily News "Ryan Hansen Solves Crime on Television" is a strange mix, but who cares? It delivers the laughs. Jan 30, 2019 Full Review Joyce Slaton Common Sense Media The police-procedural plot is really, it turns out, just a framework on which to hang jokes. And they're good ones, so that makes Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television lots of fun to watch. Rated: 3/5 Jan 30, 2019 Full Review Garrett Martin Paste Magazine By forcing it into a traditional half-hour format, YouTube Red overplays Ryan Hansen Solves Crime on Television's hand.
