Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When you arrive at this street you completley forget where you are and seems you have been transported to another place, it is a tiny medieval street, with plants near a wall, a cute graffity wall that looks like the street is continuing through it. It has a bar, and a shop from locals it is short but cute.

The Rue St Malo is famous for being the only medieval street in Brest not to be bombed in WW2. Well worth a visit, not just for the lovely buildings but as a memorial to what war can do to one town.

Rue Saint Malo in the Recouvrance district on the right bank of the Penfeld River is somewhat of a memorial to Brest in bygone times. Because the city was almost entirely destroyed during World War II (1944) this surviving section of Rue Saint-Malo, once home to sailors, shipbuilders and loose women, acquired a special status. Since 1989 a private association called ‘Vivre la Rue’ is working to save it from demolition. Unless you are prepared to delve deep into Brest’s history, there isn’t much of interest here.
