This museum has eclectic collection. We came on a Saturday in June and waited for the place to open at 10am. They have dinosaurs collection in the lobby, buddhism collection, asian, Egypt's archeology, animals for kids, furnishings collection. The ticket was not expensive. So we spent around 2 hours there.

Spent about four hours here! Everything is really neatly organized and there are special exhibitions on almost every floor. My favorite part of the museum was the 2nd floor dinosaurs and wildlife exhibition (there were a LOT of families and kids on this floor!).
There is also a cafe in the museum basement which js like a food court/bakery/cafe with lots of tables! Don't get the mac and cheese here though... it's super watery. They have a soup bar, which is pretty good though!
The museum gift shop is pretty average, but if you have kids, seems like a fun place to be (they have a kids section in the gift shop too).
The reason why I'm giving them a 4 star is because I think compared to the admission price, they don't have a wide of a range of artifacts and items to see. Still a place you should go at least once if you're in Toronto! - Ivan N.Corunna, Canada054/6/2022
Couldn't say enough good things about a place, if you get a chance ROM Friday nights were a go to for me with special events and a discounted access to the place.

Been here a few times.
Good variety of historical artifacts including a collection of dinosaur bones and skeletons.
Kids enjoyed the 2F exhibits of mammals, birds and dinosaurs. - 819183896/4/2019
Another outstanding Toronto point of interest. The Royal Ontario Museum really has something for all ages from 3000 year old mummies and significant archaeological finds from all over the world to an entire floor filled with stuffed wildlife and sea creatures.
The ROM has a subway stop that basically puts you at its front doors as well and is part of the Toronto City Pass. - Vidya D.Toronto, Canada184569/16/2019
Complimentary 3rd Mondays, starting at 5 pm.
Staff is not reliable on the info regarding the schedule & venue of performances/ events; I asked 2. - 27608365/24/2019
We didn't pay for any of the special exhibits but it didn't matter--the dinosaurs are so worth it! An amazing array of species and specimens.
The world exhibits are also fantastic. Macedonia, in particular, was incredible to see. The Egypt exhibit is a bit weak because when I was there so many pieces were being restored and not on display.
The bat exhibit is disappointing. There aren't real bats, it's a weird static piece with fake bats and a narrator.
This museum is amazing! We spent two+ hours and I'm not sure we saw everything. - Goldie V.Scarborough, Toronto, Canada9792571/25/2020
We went to the AftEr Dark event, where there were lion danced, fooD by cheer Corbin, and some floors of the mud swim that were open for the event to the gueSts could look around. The fifth fLoor was only accessible by one elevator, the line sometimes was very long. There is a. Restaurant that only has meat offerings with live music, and a good number of seats. The first floor hAd asian food, and the secondd had mussels, the dessert and polenta with beef. The lunar express was the highlight of this event, the hostess was very informative and fun to bE inside thE dome with. It's a great place for a date, many couples were at the event.

We came here only because it was part of Toronto city pass and didn't pay for any of special exhibition but we spent couple hours here and had good time.
I thought this museum is a good mix of different kind of exhibition so no matter how old you are or what you are interested in, you will find something you will enjoy.
I particularly liked the floor where they show different rooms from different eras and looking at all decorations, furnitures and how it's changes were pretty interesting.
You can easily spend 2-3 hours here if not more but it's not too big so you can visit other sites on same day. We did Casa Loma before we came here and walked there from there on beautiful Sunday afternoon.
I would recommend anyone to come here if you are around the area. - Kelda C.Queens, Queens, NY452125945/17/2019
Very clean and well-spaced museum, handicapped/stroller door opening features throughout, fantastic hands-on kids discovery area, helpful staffs and plenty of seating to take rest breaks.
We visited on the city pass as it was one of the 5 attractions included. I can't say we would have visited otherwise, the museum has nothing unique about it to set it apart from every other museum......generic in a word.
It isn't too big of a place to explore, so it's suitable for babies or children over 7.
