Royal Academy of Dramatic Art History

The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is a drama school which is located in London, England. It provides training for film, television, and theatre. It was founded in 1904 by Herbert Beerbohm Tree. It is an affiliate school of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama. It joined forces with the London Contemporary Dance School to create the first Conservatoire for Dance and Drama in 2001. In 2005 the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance joined this Conservatoire it is one of the oldest and most prestigious drama schools in the United Kingdom.

Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Programs, Courses, and Schools

The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art offers full-time courses in Acting and Theater Production. The Academy expanded its course over the years, adding Short Courses for actors and courses for American and Japanese students, also a one-year drama Foundation Course, an MA in Text & Performance, affiliated with Birkbeck College and an MA Theatre Lab course and a Sound Design in Theatre course.

The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is based in the Bloomsbury area of Central London. The main building is on Gower Street with second premises nearby in Chenies Street. The Goodge Street and Euston Square underground stations are within walking distance. It has five theatres and a cinema. The library contains around 30,000 items. Works include around 10,000 plays.
