AN ex-England football team chef has sold his beloved Worcestershire pub to new owners.

Roger Narbett, who used to cook meals for the England football team in the 00s, has sold his pub, The Chequers in Cutnall Green, near Droitwich, to new owners.

New owners Henry and Emma Pearman welcomed punters on Thursday evening (May 26).

Roger Narbett and his wife Jo have been running the pub for the past 22 years and said they want to retire to spend time with their family.

The pub is known for its traditional country feel and is a well-established pub in Worcestershire.

Mr Pearman says he wants the pub to remain a traditional country pub but the new owners are hoping to give it a modern twist.

The 35-year old said: "We're not going to change it drastically, we are going to change the menu slightly.

"Our food at the Horseshoes in Belbroughton is popular, so we're going to bring that here."
