Graduating from East High, he went on to study Fine Arts at Southern Colorado State College as well as playing offensive Guard and Defensive tackle on the SCSC football team. Grier then transferred to Colorado State University to major in Art and Drama and also Played Football on the CSU football team as a red-shirt Defensive Tackle. - Quentin Tarantino admired some of his paintings so much he used them as props in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003). The pictures are displayed on the walls of Vernita (Vivica A. Fox)'s home in the opening fight scene. Tarantino Commissioned Grier to design Black Military History Plates that were destroyed in the scene when Uma and Vivica crashed into a book shelve.
