Adam Robert Curnow, 46, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2022.
Adam was born on January 17, 1975 to Dr. Richard and Lee Curnow. He was the fourth of five sons. But the fact that he was number four never defined him.
He was the number one diver at the Missouri state high school diving championships two times. His diving career took him all over the country, winning or placing in prestigious competitions from coast to coast. We have the video tapes to prove it!
He was always the first to make you laugh. His sense of humor was as funny as it could be maddening. Every time you found yourself getting frustrated with Adam, he ended up making you smile and understand the importance of finding the joke in any situation.
He was the first to accept a dare. Be it while skiing, snowboarding, or motorcycling, he was always game for a challenge. One summer while a group of people were timidly jumping off a rock into the Poudre river in Colorado, Adam swam across the river, climbed 20 feet up the rock, turned around and did a back flip into the cold water below. When he surfaced with his beer still in hand and his sunglasses askew on his face, he laughed and said, “I forgot I was wearing these.” The onlookers broke out in cheers.
He put his son first. Family was his most important asset. Age didn’t define him. He could slip into the same world of imagination that his son, nephew, or niece lived in. This was always an act of genuine love. He was relatable to all people regardless of their age, background, education, or social status.
Like his biblical namesake, Adam was first. He was the first man like him, and there will not be another.
We will always miss him dearly.
Adam was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Katie Curnow, and Earl and Colleen Tweedie.
Adam is survived by his son, Quintin King Curnow, the love of his life; his parents, Richard and Lee Curnow; his four brothers and their wives, Grant, Patrick and his wife Joly, Matthew and his wife Gina, Nathan and his wife Kristina; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Breckenridge, Missouri. It will be followed by an open house at the Curnow Farm located at 13249 Burlington Dr., Breckenridge, MO 64625.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to adoptarott.org in Adam’s name. He loved his Rottweiler Dixie!

He brightened the Longstreth home on many an occasion.

I did not see my cousin Adam very often, but I am so thankful we had just got to see him in August at a family event for his youngest brother, Nathan. As was his way, he had me laughing hysterically at his stories about his dog, regan, and other stories about going to the pool and picking up the ladies-haha. He will be greatly missed by all of us. My prayers go out to his son, my Aunt Lee and Uncle Dick and all his brothers, sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews. Loved him and all of you.
