Perhaps best-known for his portrayal of Wing Commander Guy Gibson in The Dam Busters (1954), Todd had himself served with great distinction during the war. His other films include Stage Fright (1950), The Story of Robin Hood (1952), Rob Roy, The Highland Rogue (1953) and The Longest Day (1962).
