Richard “Cooch” D. Cuthrell Memorial service for Richard “Cooch” D. Cuthrell, age 45, of Brandt, SD will be Friday, May 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Highland Lutheran Church in Brandt, SD with Rev. Carlene Rhody officiating. There will be no visitation. Cooch passed away on May 13, 2009 at his home near Brandt. Houseman Family Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD is entrusted with the arrangements. Honorary pallbearers will be: David Beman, Edward Beman, Jesse Olene, Vance Ries, Keith Wyatt, Josh Stiefel, Kendall Schake, Gary Ruigh, Scott Thiesen, Paul Giesel, Dan Midboe and Bryan Bentley. Music will be provided by Julie Squires. Richard “Cooch” was born on July 21, 1963 to William and Mavis (Amundson) Cuthrell in Dover, Delaware. He then moved with his mother to Brandt, SD in October of 1970 and attended grade school in Brandt. Cooch graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1981. He played baseball for Brandt Baseball team during high school years. Following his education, Cooch began building steel grain bins which he did his entire life. He was united in marriage to Kristi Humphrey of Pipestone, MN on November 21, 2001 and lived on the acreage near Brandt most of his life. Cooch enjoyed building bins with his many friends, hunting, target shooting, playing pool and Texas Hold’em, hating the Minnesota Vikings and of course socializing and laughing with his friends. He loved his several dogs he had over the years. He is survived by his wife Kristi Humphrey, Trent, SD; one brother, Kevin Ball, Salt Lake City, UT; one sister Karen Cuthrell, Salt Lake City, UT; nieces and nephews: Jesse Olene, Minneapolis, MN, David Beman, Eddy Beman, Erik Beman, all of Sioux Falls, SD and many other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father William Cuthrell, his mother Mavis Cuthrell and his brother David.
