Cynthia Jo “Cindy” Hansen Woodland
Cynthia Jo “Cindy” Hansen Woodland, 58, died peacefully at her home on August 29, 2022. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on September 21, 1963, to Betty Boyd Hansen Storms and Keith Christian Hansen. She attended Beaumont public schools through her sophomore year, when her family re-located to Denver. There she attended Columbine High School and graduated in 1981. She then went to school to become a dental assistant and worked the next 20 years in the dental field.
Cindy was a talented jewelry creator, making silver and stone originals through her business, CJ’s Creations. She was also well-known for her beautiful Christmas wreaths and sold both jewelry and wreaths in various markets and trade shows. She obtained her real estate license and worked as a realtor for a decade. Cindy’s favorite pastimes were spending time with her grandson, Lucas, and baking for her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Philip Baldwin Woodland of Beaumont; sons, Zachary Allen Crutchfield and his wife, Holly, of Beaumont, and Ryan Austin Woodland of Beaumont; grandson, Lucas Crutchfield; father, Keith Hansen and his wife, Lisa, of Beaumont; sisters, Karen Hansen Robbins and her family, of Beaumont and Alyssa Hansen Tough and her family, of Austin; stepsister, Susan Storms of Denver; aunt and uncle, Linda and Terry Sparkman of Beaumont; mother-in-law, Mary Woodland of Beaumont; sister-in-law, Rebecca Woodland of Beaumont; and numerous cousins and their families.
On Thursday, September 1, 2022, Bishop David Toups of Beaumont and Seminarian Will Robbins, Cindy’s Godson and nephew who attends seminary at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, will celebrate a Mass remembering Cindy in a special chapel at St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City, which dates to the 500’s, and is over St. Peter’s tomb.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to First United Methodist Church, 701 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77701; St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 1350 North 23rd Street, Beaumont, Texas 77706, or the organization of your choice.
A gathering of Mrs. Woodland’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, 701 Calder, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend at www.fumcbeaumont.org.

I am so sorry to hear of Cindy’s passing. We worked together at American Real Estate. I always remember Cindy as being so kind. She always talked about her family and how much they meant to her. Prayers for her family at this time.
Cindy always had a very sweet spirit about her. She often spoke about her boys and her grandson with such love . Her love for all of her family was evident in her conversation. I will always treasure the beautiful turquoise ring that she handmade for me many years ago . She will truly be missed .

We lost or beloved cousin Cindy Woodland She fought cancer for 4 1/2 years. Now she is in heaven in peace rejoicing in the kingdom of God. I did not know how to come to terms with the fact that you’re gone. I have been looking at all of our messages, pictures and anything on social media I can find of us.
I keep wondering why you had to leave us so soon. So where do I even begin?
No one ever understood me the way you did. You were one of the very few people who knew all of my fears, secrets, goals, and everything that made me. And yet you still loved me unconditionally. You were always so kind, welcome, open-minded, and accepting. No matter the situation you saw the best in everyone. That was one thing I loved about you more than anything. You loved me and my family so much. You loved us simply for us, nothing more nothing less we loved you simply because you were you. Your love was endless and overflowing and you had one of the biggest hearts. You inspired people. You believed in people. You made a difference in every life you touched. Even though we live far apart. Us in San Antonio Y’all in Beaumont we always kept in contact.
I can hear your laugh still. I can see your big smile still. I will always miss our phone calls. Our family trips to beach I will always cherish and treasure.
I am truly Blessed to have had you in mine and my families life. You will always be my main Girl! We would always call each other and say “Hey Girl!” It was really hard for me to write this. Love you Cindy all the way to heaven.

In her lifetime she made a difference in this world, to friends and to family. For that she is surely now receiving the reward we are all promised in Christ.
Cindy Woodland was always known as, “Little Mama” ever since she he had her sweet boy, Zachary. We have known Cindy and her family for over 35 years. Her signature color was purple. Her love for her family, and friends were her joy. We thank her for her kindness and generosity over the years. She was a warrior in her battle with cancer. May she rest in peace in the knowledge that she lived a good life.
