Przemysł II

Born Oct. 14, 1257; died Feb. 8, 1296, in Rogoźno. Prince of Wielkopolska and Krakow from 1290 to 1295 and king of Poland from 1295.

After annexing the Kraków appanage to Wielkopolska in 1290, Przemysł gained control over Eastern Pomerania in 1295 and restored the royal title, which had been abolished in 1079. He was killed by assassins from Brandenburg, whose margrave feared a strengthened Polish state.
