Princess Elise is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. She is the monarch of Soleanna. As the leader of this city-state, Elise is allied with the United Federation, where she represents Soleanna and serves as council to the President of the United Federation.

Childhood[]
Born into the royal family, Elise was meant to become the next ruler of the Soleanna settlement. One day, however, Elise's father, the Duke of Soleanna, and his researchers accidentally split their sun god Solaris into Mephiles and Iblis in an attempt to harness the god's powers over time. While Mephiles was sealed inside the Scepter of Darkness, Elise was forced to have Iblis sealed inside herself as the Duke of Soleanna was left with no other option. Using a Chaos Emerald, the Duke sealed Iblis inside Elise, dying in the process. Elise would then have to remain as Iblis' container until the day she would give into despair, as that would release Iblis from within her, trapping her in a life of feigned optimism.
The Release[]
Ten years after the incident with Solaris, Elise, who had become the ruling monarch of Soleanna, became the target of Mephiles, who had managed to escape from his prison. Using a brilliant scheme, Mephiles saw the death of Sonic the Hedgehog. With the death of Sonic, Iblis was released from Elise and Mephiles rejoined with Iblis, recreating Solaris and began to devour time. However, with the united forces between heroes and villains, Sonic was revived and they defeated Solaris. Elise and Sonic were then sent back in time a few days before the experiments on Solaris were conducted, where they found Solaris' original form; a tiny white flame. Elise then personally blew out Solaris' flame to ensure that Solaris' split would never happen, resulting in history being rewritten.
After time was rebooted, Elise still remained the monarch of Soleanna. It is currently unknown what other events in Elise's life were changed.
