He was one of Tatler's 'Hot European Princes You've Never Heard Of', and now handsome German Prince Heinrich Donatus of Schaumburg-Lippe is in the spotlight again, after attending his father's recent wedding to girlfriend of two years, Persian pianist Mahkameh Navabi.
The 26-year-old cut a dashing figure at the nuptials, which were held at Bückeburg Palace, the family home for 700 years, last Saturday, wearing a navy blue suit and striped tie. He smiled in photos alongside the newlyweds, as well as his mother, Princess Marie-Louise of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (known as Lilly).
It is the third wedding for Prince Alexander of Schaumburg-Lippe. He was married to Heinrich's glamorous mother for almost a decade, from 1993 to 2002. Heinrich is their only son. In 2007, he married his second wife, Nadja Anna Zsoeks, with whom he shares two daughters, Princess Friederike and Princess Philomena. They divorced in 2018.
Heinrich is close to his mother, and appears to have inherited her good looks, with his flaxen locks and ice-blue eyes. The pair are close, recently undertaking an ultramarathon together (that’s 160km through mountainous terrain) to raise money for a relief project in the Philippines, while he regularly appears on her Instagram page.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic limiting guest list numbers at weddings, there have been several high society nuptials this summer so far. Ned Donovan, Roahl Dahl's grandson, was among the first, marrying Princess Raiyah of Jordan in early July. Next came Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Cressida Bonas and Harry Wentworth-Stanley, and more recently Archduchess Gabriella of Austria and Prince Henri of Bourbon-Parma.
