Despite pandemic restrictions, it truly has been a summer of love, with countless Covid-brides and grooms making the best of it by hosting intimate, low-key weddings this summer.

The most recent was that of Queen Victoria's great-great-great-great-grandson, Prince Frederick Alexander von Preussen (known as Alexander von Preussen) and the Hon. Antalya Nall-Cain, the daughter of Lord and Lady Brocket.

The ceremony took place in the small Hertfordshire village of Lemsford on 27 September, with a ceremony at St John's church, followed by a reception at the bride's former family seat (now luxury hotel) Brocket Hall. The bride wore a stunning ivory gown with cape detail, accessorising with her family tiara, the Brocket Tiara. It had previously been worn on the wedding day of her grandmother and aunt.

Alexander is the son of Prince Andrew of Prussia and Alexandra Blahova, and is the grandson on his father's side of Prince Frederick of Prussia and Lady Brigid Guinness, making him part of the brewery dynasty as well as a relative of Queen Victoria.

He recently became an uncle for the third time, with his elder sister Princess Tatiana having given birth to twins, Xenia Alexandra Selena and Amalia Maria Brigid, in September. She already has a five-year-old son, Arthur Frederick Richard Womack von Preussen, with her husband Philip Womack.

Another recent bride was Princess Alexandra's granddaughter, Flora Ogilvy, who married Timothy Vesterberg at Chapel Royal at St James's Palace on 26 September.
