- Randy SNorthern Virginia, VA128 contributionsWe were directed to ACLT by our AirBnB host after we told her how much we enjoyed hiking. Wow - what a place. Twenty two miles of trails and so dedicated to the environment. If you love nature and hiking do not pass it by. We started in the South Area the first day and walked the most difficult trail - North/South - which has a lot of elevation changes. After several miles we were at water and the only way to get to the other side was a cable ferny that you got on and pulled the cable to cross. Amazing experience and a picnic table there with an wonderful view. The next day we parked in the North Area. Visited a fruit tree garden where all the items grown are donated to the local food bank. Took the newest trail - Holly Hill - which only had one elevation change and after a couple of miles crossed farmland to a restored barn with details and photos of its history. Trails are well marked so you can never get lost. - Johnny H.Manassas, VA344 contributionsWhile investigating the area we stumbled upon Mully's Brewery. It is set in an industrial park, but is very accommodating. They have a good amount of covered outdoor seating with a small bar area inside.
We shared a flight of their brews and I had a pint as well. Our favorite with their Boysenberry Blonde and we also really liked their Naked Tart Berliner Weisse. The farm-made ice cream is AMAZING (the peanut butter was incredible)! They have a terrific variety of flavors including a few for soft serve. The serving sizes are generous.
