Prince Frederik visited Spain in October.
Near the end of October, the Crown Prince of Denmark flew to Madrid for a private visit, while Princess Mary was in New York for United Nations Day. Spanish tabloid Lecturas photographed Frederik with Genoveva Casanova, a Mexican socialite, visiting a Picasso exhibition and having dinner. The tabloid alleges the Prince spent the night at her apartment, writing he was seen entering at night and did not leave until seven hours later.
Casanova denies all rumors and speculation.
"I flatly deny the statements that suggest a romantic relationship between Prince Frederick and me," she said in a statement, per Hola. "Any statement of this type is not only completely untrue but also distorts the facts in a malicious manner. This is already in the hands of my lawyers, who will take care of the pertinent steps to protect my right to honor, truth and privacy."
Hola adds that Frederik was meant to attend the Picasso exhibition with a mutual friend, but due to an illness, the friend asked Casanova to join the prince instead.
Who is Genoveva Casanova?
She goes by Genevieve, according to her Instagram, and is a 47-year-old socialite and philanthropist from Mexico City, Mexico. She was previously married to a Spanish aristocrat, Cayetano Martinez de Irujo. (Cayetano is one of five sons of the late Duchess of Alba.) They have two children together: twins Luis Martinez de Irujo and Amine Martinez de Irujo.
Princess Mary and Prince Frederik have been a united front.
Shortly after the tabloids started speculating, Princess Mary showed her support for her husband by wearing a delicate "F" necklace.
