I’m finally listening to all of Boldy James’s albums from 2020, so I started here. And this is actually pretty good.

This is one of the better boom-bap projects I’ve heard this year. It stands out, and I think it mainly does that because of The Alchemist, who brought some solid production, Boldy James himself, and the features. If you're in love with boom bap you're going to love this album, because it's a pretty solid project but objectively I think that if you know the old works of The Alchemist and Boldy James (even if there are few other choices for the rapper) you'll see that they're not up to what they proved before. Especially if we compare it to My 1st Chemistry Set, their first collaborative album together.

Yea I really can't get into this project. A lot of tracks here are forgettable, which is surprising for an Alchemist-produced album. His delivery is just so mundane, even if his flow is smooth and pen game decent. The more Alc's beats do, the better the songs are, as the features tend to overshadow Boldy James here. Even Evidence, who I've never heard of before this listen, brings some heat: "All my words are just a letter short of swords and I enforceth" fire. Trading bars with Benny ... read more
