President Sauli Niinistö will enter the halls of Finnish Parliament mid-morning on Friday 1 March, and a newly minted President Alexander Stubb will exit.
Stubb, who won the election on 11 February, will become the 13th president of the Finnish republic and begin a six-year term.
From 11:30 am on Friday 1 March, the presidential inauguration will be broadcast live on Yle's TV1, Yle Fem, Yle Radio Suomi, Yle Areena, as well as on the Yle.fi website and the Yle app.
TV and radio commentary will be in Finnish and includes guest input from experts in the fields of academia, foreign policy and history.
The ceremony will also be interpreted in sign language live on Yle Areena.
The broadcast will commence with a plenary session of Parliament, where the incoming president takes the oath of office. Following a welcome from Speaker of Parliament Jussi Halla-aho (Finns), it is then customary for the incoming president to respond with a speech to the legislature.
The live broadcast will then follow the newly inaugurated head of state as he conducts a customary inspection of the guard of honour. The president also serves as Supreme Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces.
The TV broadcast will also follow meetings with the government, members of the diplomatic corps and Presidential Palace officials.
