“Places” is Lea Michele’s sophomore and much awaited second studio album. It is a returning to her musical roots, driving inspiration from her Broadway background and formation, her musical role-models such as Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion, in order to showcase her vocal abilities.
The main theme is love. This album deals with a number of its nuances, expressing deep affection and heartbreaking memories of past relationships.
“Hey You”, the last track of the standard version, is the follow up to the closing track of her last album, “Louder”, called “If You Say So”, dedicated to the premature death of her perhaps-to-be-husband and boyfriend, Cory Monteith.
