This coming-of-age story was good and more original than many others. The story revolves around two older male teens and takes them through things like one's sister falling for a 'bad boy', one's father coming out of the closet (actually, he was pushed out...) and building confidence when it comes to the opposite sex. Realistic dialogue, dotted with good humor, good acting by most, and a departure from the usual in this genre make this film a decent one to watch and worth the time to see.

An interesting film to watch if you've got the time (but not something I would have purchased...). The film is a bit rough and grainy (which could also serve as metaphor for the lives of several characters...). While some portions of the film seem plausible given that we're talking about the lives of awkward and sometimes naive teenage boys, there are many others that feel like an overreach (especially for teens living in the Santa Monica area of southern California).

Very enjoyable with little effort. I liked the loose association of the dialogue and ensemble cast. Not heavy hitting on the moralizing, which is pleasant. Don't know why someone found it "unwatchable" -- no, it wasn't nuclear fission or a British detective series. Light fare that made pleasant watching.

Surprising witty and silly, but still meaningful

We started this film almost by accident and found ourselves involved in a very cute, sweet but also meaningful low-budget independant film. From the absurd title song ""mini-bike" through the outrageous, over the top performance by the Finnish au-pair, the film is exactly what it seems to be: an interesting, American story that almost everyone can understand and appreciate. Clearly not Oscar material, but a nice relaxed evening thinking about friendship, family, and bad indie music.
