The first official trailer has been released for Steven Spielberg's latest family drama "The Fabelmans," which just might be his most personal film to date.

Inspired by Spielberg's own childhood as a young cinema-obsessed Jewish boy being raised in the 1950s suburbs of Arizona, the film stars Michelle Williams and Paul Dano as Mitzi and Burt, who are in essence the fictionalized depictions of Spielberg's own mother and father.

The drama centers around Sammy Fabelman (played by up-and-comer Gabriel LaBelle), a 16-year-old aspiring filmmaker who is emotionally torn between his two parents -- his free-spirited, idealistic, artistic mother (Williams) and his more pragmatic, scientific-minded father (Dano).

Seth Rogen also co-stars in the upcoming film, playing family friend Bennie, who is the honorary "uncle," while Taxi's Judd Hirsch plays Mitzi's Uncle Boris.

Already considered an Oscar contender, the film was co-written by Spielberg and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Tony Kushner (Angels in America, Munich, Lincoln). This is a rare screenwriting effort from Spielberg who hasn't written a screenplay since co-writing 2001's "A.I. Artificial Intelligence," followed by 1982's "Poltergeist," and 1977's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

Spielberg is also once again working with five-time Academy Award-winning film composer John Williams (Schindler's List, Jaws, Indiana Jones, etc), as well as his frequent cinematographer, two-time Academy Award-winner Janusz Kaminski (Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan).

"The Fabelmans" is being released in select theaters on November 11th before expanding nationwide on Thanksgiving. Watch the trailer, above.
