A Viking boy, nicknamed Ghost (Karl Urban), is adopted by the Wampanoag tribe after surviving a shipwreck despite a legend that death and destruction will follow the boy wherever he travels. Over the course of a decade, the young Norseman grows into a fierce warrior and battles against rampaging Vikings who slaughter the tribes. I can't fault a film for trying- but if this is the best one can do for the building of such a legend based on likely historical events- epic fail. In every single aspect of scaffolding that builds a good film.

I don't know why the ratings are so bad for this movie. I liked it a lot. Sure the dialogue was a bit so so, but given the time it is set in and the language/ cultural backgrounds of the movie that is to be expected. I liked the actors the plot held up well and there was always enough going on to hold interest. I think it well worth a look at.

non-existent plot and silly dialogue?? No sympathetic character? I guess the rumours that critics in this site are failed film makers is right. The main character was lost and confused, that makes him easy to feel empathy for. The plot was his journey to defending his family and becoming one of the tribe. Maybe you critics should study story structure before you write.

The movie is filmed in a way that makes it seem like the camera has epilepsy and the color desaturation renders everything murky. Someone should remind director Marcus Nispel that there's a difference between making a music video and a feature film.
