I visited Palmengarten by luck. My luck ... !!
It was not my intention, but being on Palmengarten neighbourhood, i felt curious to visit it.
A ticket by 7 euros to discover a wonderful, well cared, and scientific impecable.
A pavillion of butterflies, thematic gardens, and pavillions organized by regions and floras.
A marvellous and enormous space , beautifully cared, with in every step, each specie labeled and explained and cared.
If i lived in Frankfurt, and my kids were younger i imagine myself with family, enjoying a wonderful and enormous garden at the same time, an exceptional classroom of flora.
Greetings to Frankurt for this share

I'm not really sure how this is rated as the fourth best attraction in Frankfurt.
It was pretty, but for 7 euro to enter I don't think it was tremendous value for money.
It was nice, but I'd have to say nothing exceptional.
Also, when we arrived we asked if there was a place to get a coffee. We were told that we could get one at the restaurant on site. After trudging around we found that the restaurant doesn't open on Wednesdays and Thursdays - we were there on a Wednesday!

Fair price for entrance, beautiful grounds and greenhouses. Would have liked to see more English information/leaflets/maps available as we missed certain locations because we couldn't understand the information. However, overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the beautiful, well-kept gardens. Very easily accessible, too, and central location.

We managed to experience only the Tropicarium, everything else was closed until further notice. I don’t exactly hold this against them, it is the middle of winter, but no one bothered to tell us at entry and we ended up walking in rain from one House to another only to find closed doors. This was a big minus for me.
I am sure it is pretty in spring and summer, and I will gladly come again.

A huge and beautiful botanical garden that has open and closed areas for visit, so it is possible to visit it even in bad weather. Very educationally designed. Tickets can be paid for in cash or by credit card. Wheelchair accessible. I'm sorry I didn't find a gift shop.

I was here last week with my husband. We entered around 14:00 and it was almost empty. We had a nice visit and then after 17:00 was packed with the families with young children. When we left around 18:00 the line for the tickets was about 500 metres. So if you don't want to wait hours go a bit earlier.

I really enjoyed this garden. Big; lots of choices; lots of water; lots of areas to sit, relax, and enjoy; and lots of places to have food/drink. Recommend going in the morning when there are fewer families/kids.

We a really went to enjoy the special light event they have in the summer and I wish I had planned more time. It was a great afternoon to sit out, enjoy a few live bands, have a relaxing picnic or try out some food from various food carts or just enjoy the different gardens.
Definitely looking forward to this summers event and to spending the day there again with my family.

Such a lovely place to relax with your family and take a break from the busy city. I enjoyed going through all these beautiful plants, taking photos, and just spending time with the kids. I will definitely come here again.

Nicely laid out botanical gardens with lots of specialist glass houses containing plants from around the world. Though the exterior gardens were sparse being winter, we spent an enjoyable couple of hours getting lost among the glasshouse displays. Easy to reach via the U bahn or tram.

Do we have to book due to COVID-19 or can we walk in ?There doesn't appear to be any information online and I don't want to get caught out. I'm hoping to go on a Sunday. Thanks!

No reservations are required. You can just buy the tickets at the entrance. The main entrance at the East side was closed. We entered through the Palmengarten Street in the southern side.(intersection with Bockenheimer LandstraĂźe)
Is the facility wheelchair accessible?

Yes, much of Palmengarten is accessible by wheelchair. We used one, and saw the light show at night. Wheelchairs can be borrowed at the front ticket office in exchange for an ID.

Definitely it’s all year round and has wonderful cafe and Restaurant. So long as not raining lovely also got the indoor greenhouses out of weather.
Hi, Is it good to visit there at the end of the December?

I would honestly recommend it more in nicer weather, because you can enjoy all the outdoor activities it has to offer. But you can give it a try. There are a lot of indoor places to see all the different plants.
