We had another wonderful afternoon picnic with paired wines from the vineyard, in the beautiful, shady courtyard, having visited before and remembered this as a lovely experience. We were served 5 courses of local produce and this included a lesson on how to make a perfect bruschetta, with local tomatoes, oil and garlic. Service was excellent and with each course we were given information and history on their wines and local produce, including by lovely family members who own the vineyard. After we were able to explore the grounds and chapel, all very scenic. Thank you!

What a fantastic market! I’ve visited many throughout France, but this has to be the finest.
So much to see, the buzz is amazing, and the samples of charcuterie were most welcome!

What a great show! All the cast were spot on and such wonderful vibe throughout the production. This theatre is a gem in Pézenas--do not miss it! Bravo!!!!

We booked the Table d’hôtes and it all was just wonderful! It’s very familiar and cosy but also professional. Both the food and the wines are of high quality and you can show that it’s made with lots of passion.
Would recommend it for everyone who is looking for an evening with great food, wonderful wines and some new knowledge of wine.

We live about half an hour from Matthieu de Lauzun’s restaurant and so, for once, we decided to stay the night to avoid a post-dinner drive – and what a treat to be able to enjoy lots of different, well-chosen wines with every course without worry!

Because none of the rooms can be made up as twins (so easy to have divisible beds but many French hotels are the same!) we decided to really push the boat out and book the two bedroom apartment, which is extremely well set up and could, if a sofa bed were used, even sleep 6. Lovely designs everywhere, superb bedlinen, smart bathrooms, lots of thoughtful extras and even a small kitchen. Only problem – and it’s an important one that needs fixing – the hotel wifi doesn’t reach the apartment and the mobile phone reception is also very poor. It was a nuisance for a short stay but would be a major one for a longer stay which the accommodation otherwise lends itself to.

The pool was a great bonus although, being unheated, it was slightly on the margin at this late point in the year.

The welcome was simply outstanding, full of charm, warmth and willingness to help. And the superb breakfast left little doubt that the hotel was backed up by a Michelin-starred kitchen.

Knowing that I was about to have to start a gluten-free diet, I asked whether this would pose any problems and was assured that the restaurant’s pastry chef could always rustle up GF alternatives so I fear this could become a (quite expensive!) habit!

We were visiting Pezenas for the day and saw that the museum didn't open till late afternoon, so we extended our parking tickets and returned when it opened. It was a labyrinth of rooms on many floors and all manner of hinges, handles etc as well as doors. We were a group of six, with two girls. The lady in charge told us about the treasure hunt, so we had great fun looking for it and were rewarded with a sweet treat at the end. A fascinating place with a great variety of items to see.

A wide range of works by local and regional artists ranging from individual pieces of pottery (both modern and traditional) together with lighting (mostly modern) in the basement.

The old part of the town is preserved as best as can be in modern times. The streets are all cobbled and surprisingly clean and litter free. The entire area is not pedestrianised ( part of it is ) but the roads are so narrow nothing can travel very fast. The tall buildings also mean that by and large you are in shade much of the time. A relief from the sun in summer when temperatures can easily reach 40' All the points of interest are marked by signs at road junctions and you are never more than 10 minutes from something of interest. There are also large plaques on buildings that are of importance. Do look out for the many ancient doors that are still in use.

The first good thing is that it has its own private parking spaces in a town where it's often difficult to park. Entry just a few Euros. I wouldn't really call it a museum because because i's more of a collection with some items only having comments or information. None the less fascinating to walk around the three floors. Well worth visiting. If lucky you might even get to see toys being repaired. The film that can be seen also shows some items no longer on general display.
A pity that the owners didn't advise the Tourist Information Office that from 1st September they were only open in the afternoons, only having a notice on the gate.

A few years ago I spent 5 weeks WWOOFing at Domaine Monplezy. Not only was the vineyard beautiful, but the people truly made it an unforgettable destination. Nothing beats sipping wine while looking out at the rolling hills and learning about the rich history of the land. I would highly recommend visiting to experience the true countryside of southern France!

Easy to locate in the old town, effectively in the centre. The exterior is rather plain but the interior makes up for it. The decoration and stained glass windows are superb however the organ is magnificent. During our visit there, there was a rehearsal, a singer accompanied by the organ prior to a wedding. So lucky to have been there. Do not miss the exhibition in the treasury, the door is tucked away in a corner
