Oxford High Prep and Pre-Prep schools are proud to offer a personalised, positive and inspiring start to life at school.
Oxford High School is Oxford’s oldest girls’ school and leads the way in educating high-achieving students with the drive and determination to change the world for the better.
Our Sixth Form is a friendly, stimulating and exciting environment where students will flourish academically and develop individual talents and potential.
We are part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), the leading network of independent girls’ schools in the UK with nearly 20,000 students between the ages of three and 18. Founded in 1872, the GDST has a long history of pioneering innovation in the education of girls, and is the largest single educator of girls in the UK.
Our friendly team are always on hand to answer your questions, arrange a personal visit or find you the ideal person with whom to speak about your daughter. So don’t hesitate to get in touch – we really do love to hear from you.
Our prep and pre-prep schools welcome girls from ages 4 – 11 years old.
The main points of entry are at age 11 (Year 7) and age 13 (Year 9).
External applications are warmly invited to apply.
At every stage, a balance of learning and challenge is created so that each student can discover their true potential.
The ethos of our school is one of intellectual challenge combined with real heart, resulting in an atmosphere of true originality.
We create learning opportunities and environments that encourage girls to take risks, make connections and develop strength as well as insight.
Our students are encouraged to be individuals, as part of a closely bonded network of friends, teachers and parents.
Since the school’s establishment in 1875, countless remarkable women have been educated here at Oxford High. On this page, you can learn about some of our best-known alumnae, from Dame Maggie Smith to Dame Cressida Dick.
