He was the son of Erik V 'Klipping' Christofsson, King of Denmark and Agnes von Brandenburg.1 He married Euphamia of Pomerania, daughter of Bogislaw IV of Pomerania , Duke of Pomerania. He died on 2 August 1332 at age 55 at Nykøbing, Falster, Denmark.2 He succeeded to the title of King Christopher II of Denmark in 1320.3 He was deposed as King of Denmark in 1326.
