This HBO movie was great. Ruth Wilson, Andrew Scott, Jeff Wilbusch, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie.This true story about the Oslo Peace Accords was dramatic and inspirational. It's about trying to make peace with sworn enemies anyway possible. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's worth watching.

I thought the movie was already old due to its cinematography. It reminds me of the 1990s. The actors played well too, especially Andrew Scott. Oh, how I wish the agreement had been pushed forward.

One of the finest films I have ever seen. The writing is absolutely superb, the acting is imbued with true depth of feeling, and the story itself will endure far into the future. This is a film that deserves to be seen by all.

Oslo (HBO) is a movie version of the play about the diplomatic back channel formed to negotiate peace with the PLO and the Israeli government. The play (from what I understand) was three hours long and this film is only two hours long. I don't know what was cut (I suspect some background info on our main couple as their entire role is a bit vague in the movie). I found it watchable but often felt it cut away form the diplomatic action and it was often very unclear what moved the characters forward towards comprise in many of the encounters, but every once in a while, the dialog clicks into place. I think some of the casting is a bit odd ...seeming more movie star than historical figure (and skewing way to British). It is likely more interesting to history and communications majors than the public, but even then, I can't say it is a top tier experience. For me 3 stars out of 5... and that may be generous.

Oslo is a smart and intelligent film that displays humanity in a time of crisis. The film is based on the play of the same name and is about the Oslo Peace Talks of 1993 between Israel and the PLO. Ruth Wilson and Andrew Scott play Norwegian diplomats who 'back channel' talks in a neutral location to attempt to bring peace to the Middle East. The talks were essentially 'secret' for the purpose of them being more constructive. This well acted film is a good look at the history of the time and how personal dynamics can impact any peace talks. There is a lot personality on display here along with some cracking dialogue. Some plays don't always translate well to film but this film mostly does a very good job.

At 118 minutes it is an hour shorter than the play. As with any theatrical adaptation, it relies on the dialogue and the acting, and both are strong. You come to know the men in this room, and the husband and wife who want them to succeed.
