You should be fine, there are still areas in Flagler beach that have to be cleaned up but Ormond beach seems to be in pretty good shape. Stores, restaurants and hotels are open for business.

Great Beach, a little pricier than the Castillo del Sol I stayed at, but has all the amenities. 3.5 stars (up from my reviewed hotel at 3.0)

I've stayed there twice for a total of six days. Great Beach, and many rooms with ocean view. It is your basic three star hotel, but affordable in a fantastic location. My rooms were clean. The complimentary breakfast good.

IMHO you can find 4 star accommodations at least in Daytona along the A1A. (Atlantic Blvd) e.g. the larger upscale chains.

The way I see it there’s crime everywhere and every city. I have lived here for the past year. I relocated from Miami Florida. I have seen more crime and disrespect in my previous home city than Ormond. It is your conclusion from this point moving forward. Thanks and good luck.

Thank You for asking but We did not stay at a hotel or motel! We have an Aliner camper which we used for a brief stay at a nearby campground.

Flagler does not have any hotels that I am aware of. Hammock Dunes to the north (Palm Coast) but it may be a bit pricey. Ormond Beach and Daytona are your best bet with a wide variety of amenities, prices, etc. In Flagler we like The Funky Pelican which is at the Flagler pier. A little south of there is SnacJack (our kids hit this place on their way down from VA).
