Quentin Tarantino has scrapped his career's last film The Movie Critic for this reason

Quentin Tarantino’s last and final film, The Movie Critic is no longer happening. Hence, Brad Pitt who was always the choice to lead the role of Cliff Booth will no longer be a part of it. Filming on the same was to begin really soon but the long-awaited project has been scrapped, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

Announced as his last feature, Quentin Tarantino’s The Movie Critic would have been his 10th feature. The film was set in 1977 California. 

Why has Tarantino scrapped his last feature

As to why he has scrapped the film, sources close to Quentin reveal that he plans on making something new and that will take some time. He is no longer interested in rewriting or reviving the film.

First, Quentin Tarantino looked towards a cynical film reviewer he looked up to in his teens for his 10th feature. Then he scrapped that idea and planned to make a film on Brad’s stuntman character from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The role had landed Brad Pitt an Academy Award.

About the film, Tarantino had said at the Cannes Film Festival, “I can’t tell you guys [anything] until you see the movie. I’m tempted to do some of the character’s monologues right now, but I’m not going to. Maybe if there were less video cameras. You just have to wait and see.”

In addition to Pitt's casting, the project had already received a $20 million tax break from the California state government. We are not sure what changed Quentin’s mind.
