About
A daring architectural site, the Olympic Park was built to accommodate the 1976 Summer Olympics and has since been host to more than one hundred million visitors. Whether to admire Montreal from atop the highest inclined tower in the world, to attend an event in the Stadium, to exercise at the Sports Centre or to take part in an outdoor event at the Esplanade Financiere Sun Life, there is something for everyone. The Olympic Park grounds and its thirteen on-site partners are visited by more than four million people every year. Open to the world and in harmony with the neighbouring community of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, the Olympic Park has become a unique recreational and tourist attraction where creation, discovery, entertainment, and sport coexist side-by-side. New for the summer 2016 The Souvenirs of 1976 exhibit will take you back in time to (re)live the Montreal Olympic adventure-from the project's tentative beginnings to today, when the flame still burns.

Neighborhood: Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.

    Not what I was expecting
I guess I was expecting more. There really wasn't much to see. There was one good angle, with all the flags and the Olympic flame tower. From that angle, it was cool - I can't imagine being there for the actual games. If you choose to stop here, you won't need a lot of time.

    Okay place to stroll
Park dedicated to the (very expensive) 1976 Montreal Summer olympics that is now a bit barren. There are several things to do around like the botanical garden, the Biodome, or the futbol/soccer stadium in the campus, but for the Olympics there is not much to see. There are sets of flags around the memorial, and the elevator to the top was being upgraded so I didn't get to check it out. Not much to do, so it's best to walk around for a bit.

    Cool Step Back in Time
The Olympic Park is a cool step back in time! Seeing all the monuments and stadiums will make you feel as if you are back several years ago when the Olympics took place in Montreal. Not much is open for touring, so beware of that…but it’s still cool to see! We were able to see the Olympic pool in use by classes, which was cool!

We came upon Parc Olympique not knowing what to expect. It was actually delightful. We went into one building and immediately knew it had a pool inside by the chlorine smell. Turns out it was the large pool for racing and also a dive pool. The architecture is really something to see. The large tower will soon have a restaurant in it. I'm certain the view will be wonderful. It's also just a nice place to walk around and be outside.

I went to see Metallica and we had an extremely hard time navigating are seats. The sections and rows are poorly marked and confusingly ordered. The sound for the opening acts was a disappointment, largely due to the structure of the stadium. Otherwise, the venue was adequate. It had a solid system for getting in and out, many entrances and exits, a built-in metro, but the facilities were lacking in that there was a low number of washrooms, in which there was far too few stalls. Additionally, there was no restocking of certain items even though there was a free night between the two shows in which they could’ve refilled the quickly-emptied soap dispensers, and their supplies of an assortment of beverages and food items, which was disappointing but understandable. I can see the stadium being of better use for a sporting event or such, but for a concert it wasn’t the best, even though the shows were great.

Good Place for kids. A big city park, accessible by the Metro, full of attractions, many good for families and kids. Some of the architecture is not pretty, but the green space is. It's a big park.

Olympics 1976
Nice to see the names of the participants engraved outside the stadium.
The swimming Pool is still well maintained and so the stadium , pity that the Expos moved.
Nadia Comaneci was the biggest Star at this Olympics.

I went here for the Metallica concert. It’s a ton of complicated walking to get in. The stadium has clearly seen better days. It all looks old. It shakes during the concert and there are echos. And getting out is crazy. They walk everyone to like one exit. It’s a packed madhouse. Not a great spot to see a concert. Although the band was great.

The olympic stadium tour is very short with very little interesting information. The pool is nice to see. The $12 cost to park is not worth it at all! We paid to go through a gate, with security....only to find after 2 hours at the site we returned to a car that was smashed in! All our personal belongings were taken. The "security" guards asked no questions about what was stolen, no reports were given. They just said go to the police station. This leaves one to wonder if they may have even be involved. All in all a very upsetting end to a wonderful city.

Last night I took my wife and two children to the monster truck show[ oct 25 2003] .The show itself wasn,t that bad except for the fact that you couldn't understand a word the anouncer was saying due to the lousy acoustics .All we heard was garble all night long. However, what really ruined the experience for us was the amount of cigarette smoke we and our two young children were subjected to . while standing in line to get in ,we were surrounded by smokers for almost forty minutes. You see, security dose absolutly nothing to enforce no smoking areas. The non smoking areas may as well not even exist as they are surrounded by smoking areas all with no ventilation .As well smokers are allowed to walk through non smoking areas while smoking. But the worst came during intermission when my wife and I decided to get a drink and use the washroom. As we left the main stadium area we were forced to walk into the long hallway that surrounds the stadium and accesses all the different seating sections. The amount of cigarette smoke, from all the smokers crammed into this narrow unventilated hallway , created a fog that was dificult to see through. My eyes were burning and I started choking and I was forced to find the first exit back into the main stadium. Even here in the main seat area, were it is marked no smoking ,people smoke while secuity looks on with with indifferent eyes. I am sure we smoked a pack of cigarettes even though we are non smokers. So unless you are six foot four, 300 lbs , and ready to be arrested for kicking the dickens out of the group of smokers seated in front of you , or if you don,t mind dying from cancer . stay away from the montreal olympic staduim. I know I will!!
