Amazon Prime Video’s line-up for this year just keeps getting better and better: shows like Citadel, The Power and Dead Ringers are all on our watchlist, and the streamer’s new show Wilderness looks set to join them very soon.

Based on the novel of the same name by B.E Jones, Wilderness Amazon Prime’s new show stars Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen as a young British couple on a dream holiday that begins to turn sour. It’s set to debut on our screens sometime later in 2023.

Doctor Who and The Sandman star Jenna Coleman plays Liv, who lives in New York and has a seemingly perfect life and marriage to Will (Jackson-Cohen). The two’s bliss is suddenly thrown into turmoil though when Liv learns that Will has been having an affair, and is heartbroken at the betrayal of the man who she thought she knew. Will is kept in the dark about her discovery, but Liv’s dismay quietly turns into fury.

After Will suggests that the two take a trip around the US National Parks as a way of rekindling their passions for each other, Liv begins to formulate a plan for revenge. She goes along with the idea of the trip, and uses the vast wilderness to her advantage.

The original novel of Wilderness was published back in 2020, and received praise for its premise and addictively thrilling nature. Its plot gives us a little more detail on what to expect from the series: as the two head out into the American parks, Liv decides to utilise nature and its dangers in order to put Will through a series of tests. If he passes three tests, he’ll win his wife back- and save his own life.
